Employee Spotlight: Meet Jacob Stalder
Special AnnouncementsMeet Jacob Stalder: one of FSB Premier's newest financial planners!
Jake has been with Premier since 2020, bringing in 8 years of industry experience and strong investment knowledge to his role. He enjoys the variety of challenges and learning opportunities that each day brings, as well as the team camaraderie and "work hard, play hard" environment he shares with his team. Just last year, he passed his CFP® exam and is now working on becoming a fully certified financial planner.
What makes Jake so successful in his career is his calm and empathic nature, something that can be attributed to his small-town upbringing. He originally grew up in the countryside of southeast Iowa where he enjoyed being around animals like cats, dogs, chickens, etc. (Below is Pepper, one of the newer additions to the farm.) Being from southeast Iowa, Jake is an avid Hawkeyes and Cubs fan, often going to games and cheering on their favorite teams. He and his family were lucky enough to attend the first Field of Dreams game played in Iowa last year! They also participate in the "Kickoff to Kinnick" 5K Run every year -- if you are one that likes running for a good cause, Jake is always happy to add additional running buddies to this event!
After graduating high school, Jake left the countryside to attend Iowa Wesleyan University for Psychology and began working in investments straight out of college. Originally, he wanted to become a licensed counselor but found that that his skillset and knowledge fit well into the role of a financial advisor. He liked helping others in an impactful way and being a good steward to their overall well-being while helping them work through tough times or transitions in their lives. Jake believes his financial knowledge adds another layer of expertise to those conversations.
While working in Iowa City, he met his fiance Marissa who was in PT school at the time. They began dating and eventually made the move to Cedar Falls in 2019, where shortly after, Jake and Marissa became engaged and are planning a wedding for this coming June! They have both made the Cedar Valley their home, with Marissa working as a Physical Therapist. When not in the office, you may run into Jake running, cycling, or biking on the many trails of Cedar Falls. Jake also enjoys skiing, kayaking, and traveling to new places with Marissa -- they recently made trips up to Duluth, Portland, and Chicago.
Jake is always ready to advocate for clients and work hard for you. His empathetic and calming personal demeanor helps take the stress out of financial planning, whether it be for individuals just getting started with their career, local businesses and non-profits figuring out their 401(k) needs, going through life’s tough transitions, or looking to take that big step towards financial independence.
